1. Who Operates This Site

This website is operated by Calvin Nielson as an unofficial community resource for Bay Area Speedcubin' 69 2026. For questions or requests regarding your data, contact: sixstringcal@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

If you use the Group Selection feature and log in with your WCA account, we collect and store the following:

• WCA User ID – a numeric identifier assigned to you by the WCA
• WCA ID – your public competitor ID (e.g., 2023USA0001), if you have one
• Display name – your name as it appears on the WCA website
• OAuth access and refresh tokens – used to authenticate requests on your behalf
• Group selections – the competition groups you choose for each event

We do not collect your email address, location, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

If you only view the schedule without logging in, no personal data is collected or stored.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data is used solely to operate the Group Selection feature:

• To identify you and display your current group selections
• To save and update your group preferences
• To allow competition delegates to export group assignments to the WCA WCIF

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to this competition.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

An authentication token is stored in your browser's localStorage. This token remains on your device and is used to authenticate API requests. You can remove it by logging out or clearing your browser's local storage.

User account information and group selections are stored in a database hosted on Heroku (a third-party cloud platform). Heroku's privacy practices are described at heroku.com/policy/privacy.

Schedule data is fetched live from the WCA's public API and is not stored by this site.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.

Your group selections may be shared with the competition's WCA delegates for the purpose of organizing competition groups. This is the core purpose of the feature.

We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Data Retention

Data collected through this site will be deleted within a reasonable period after the competition concludes (no later than 90 days after the final competition day). You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing sixstringcal@gmail.com.

7. WCA OAuth

Login is handled via the WCA's OAuth 2.0 service. When you click "Login with WCA," you are redirected to the WCA website to authorize this application. The WCA's privacy policy applies to that interaction: worldcubeassociation.org/privacy.

8. Your Rights

You may request to:

• View the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data

9. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the data we store, including using HTTPS for all communications. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use this site at your own risk.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
